Hi Everyone,

Hope you all have a great weekend, here is my list of fun things I've found that are going on in the Sarasota - Bradenton - Venice area:



FRIDAY

Anna Maria Island Veterans Day Parade -- starts at 1 pm on Pine Ave by the City Hall, runs to City Pier Park.



FRIDAY - MONDAY

Sarasota Chalk Festival -- at the Venice Airport Festival Grounds, 8 am - 5 pm each day. Tickets $5 - $25.

Siesta Key Crystal Classic Master Sand Sculpting Competition -- master sculptors compete, vendor village, live music. Fri 10 am - 9 pm, Sat 9 am - 9 pm, Sun 10 am - 4:30 pm, Mon 10 am - 5 pm. $6/person for spectators wanting to go inside the marked off area to view sand sculptures up close. Benefits Mote Marine.



SATURDAY

Sarasota Farmers Market -- downtown at Lemon & Main, 7 am - 1 pm.

Central Sarasota Farmers Market -- corner Proctor & Beneva, 8 am - 1 pm.

Bradenton Farmers Market -- old Main Street in downtown Bradenton, 8 am - 2 pm.

Suncoast Food & Wine Festival -- at Lakewood Ranch's Polo Club grounds. Wine and food samplings provided by fine dining area restaurants. 1 - 4 pm, $80/person.

Symphony on the Sand -- Wine & food tastings from local restaurants as you watch the sunset on Coquina Beach to music provided by the Anna Maria Island Symphony and chorus. 4:30 - 7:30 pm, tickets $20 - $125.

Sarasota Veterans Day Parade -- starts at Main & Osprey and runs to J. D. Hamel Park where there will be a ceremony after the parade. Parade starts at 11 am.

Manatee Veterans Day Parade -- starts at the Manatee county fairgrounds and runs to Sutton Park, starts at 11 am.

Venice Veterans Day Ceremony -- at Patriots Park, 10 - 11 am.




SATURDAY & SUNDAY

Sarasota Medieval Fair -- jousting, music, ye ole turkey leg & ale for sale, 75 daily shows/performances, artisan marketplace. Robarts Arena at the Sarasota county fairgrounds. 10 am - 5:30 pm each day. Adults $17.95, students/seniors $15.95, children 5 - 12 $8.95

Stone Crab Festival -- features live music performing on 3 stages, food & drink, kids zone, local arts & crafts vendors and lots of mouth watering crabs (both stone & FL blue). 10 am - 6 pm, parking lot of Swordfish Grill & Tiki Bar.
Parking is available at the F.I.S.H. Preserve, three blocks to the east of the festival site, with free shuttles to the event. The festival benefits Fishing for Freedom in Manatee County.

St. Armand's Circle Fall Art Festival -- wide variety of artisans showcasing their works in pottery, ceramics, painting, wood working, etc. 10 am - 5 pm each day.

Vintage and Collectibles Fair -- at the Sarasota Municipal Auditorium, $3/adult, Sat 10 am - 5 pm, Sun 10 am - 4 pm.

Englewood Paddlefest -- paddle board and kayak race events.

SUNDAY

Bridge Street Market --great farmers market option on Anna Maria Island, 10 am - 3 pm

Siesta Key Farmers Market -- Siesta Village Plaza, 8 am - 2 pm

Siesta Key Drum Circle -- just before sunset at Siesta Key public beach, everyone welcome.

Ski-A-Rees Ski Show -- 2 pm at 1602 Ken Thompson Parkway (behind Mote Marine).

Bowls of Hope -- fundraising event for All Faiths Food Bank. Soup, bread & desserts from 40 local restaurants, participants get to keep the specially designed, hand crafted soup bowls. Ed Smith Stadium, tickets $10 - $100, 11 am - 2 pm.

Santa Paws -- Mall of University Town Center offers dog & cat owners the opportunity to have pet photos with Santa, use the east mall entrance by Kona Grill, 6 - 8 pm.


Nov. 15th -- Celtic Thunder Symphony -- at the Van Wezel, 8 pm. Info at: Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall: Sarasota, Florida


Nov. 11th - 19th -- U.S. Open lawn Bowling Championship -- competitors from 16 countries, at the Sarasota Lawn Bowling grounds, 809 N. Tamiami Trail (by the bay). 8:30 - 6 pm each day, free admission to spectators.
