I am considering a relocation to Sarasota area of Florida from Kentucky. I am looking at purchasing a house in the $100,000 range or below. I would like to ask if you guys would help me out by telling me the best (clean and safe) areas within 30 miles of Sarasota to buy a house in that price range, and to show me the calculations of the costs of the home. I mean, what would the cost of taxes and insurance be?..also any other cost such as garbage etc. I am also attempting to find out more about house trading, that might be an option for me.

North Port probably offers the best deal in that price range. You can get a great 3br/2ba home in that range. SoFLGal lives and work in that area too. You should look her up!

When are you thinking of moving? Where in Kentucky do you live? I would kid you and ask if you are a Hatfield or a McCoy, but I won't.
Kentucky is a beautiful State! I've driven through there many times. There are a lot of grand historic houses and some really nice small towns. Also Great Horse country too!

You should look in the North Port area. Right now there are newer, 3/2/2 homes in nice areas for well under 100K. North Port is located less than 30 miles from the Sarasota area.

I live in North Port and my home is 2127 under air, built in 2003, not in a flood zone, has a hip roof and does not have a pool. We pay under $800 per year for our homeowners insurance.

Our taxes are $2651 per year which includes garbage. Most of the homes in North Port are on well and septic, so you would just have the well maintenance every six months. They come out and scrub it down and change the filters which runs about $100. You would also need to make sure the well has salt added to it periodically.

We have had several people contact us lately inquiring about trading homes. I think there might be a website that helps people do this.
