Hi,
My family and I just moved here in June from Indianapolis and my 10 year old daughter and I love to go to goodwill and find good deals on clothes for her. We went to a goodwill in Venice and ot had nice adult clothing but not much for children. Does anyone know a good goodwill or thrift store for children in the venice/englewood area? Would Port Charlotte have a better selection for children? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

If you're willing to go to the one at 3611 1st St. Bradenton, it's very big, with a lot of clothing for everyone, & I can't tell you the amazing deals I've found there, they've raised prices lately, but still, you can find quite a few sleepers.

There is a new Goodwill store in North Port on 41. The place is massive. I think they have something for everyone if you want to give that one a try. Don't go into the bargain bin part, that is all junk but the store part has a lot of nice things.

There is a Goodwill store in Nokomis right off of Hwy. 41 (this is pretty close to Venice).

Hi Budsock, welcome to area from a fellow Hoosier

As wondermint said, I'd suggest the store in Nokomis/Osprey on 41.

Thanks! I will try these. I have noticed that the Goodwill that are considered SWFL price there own stuff. There was a brand new target skirt for $8.99! Crazy! Then I went to the Habitat for humanity Restore shop and they had a dining room set for $1200! I am starting to miss my Gooswill back home.

Goodwill has lost their mind. I saw a clock - a small nightstand clock - priced $49.99. It was old, it was interesting but still!

BUT the Goodwills back in NY were awful. THey never had anything good, just broken junk from Target at maybe 20-30% off retail. I rarely went and I rarely bought anything when I did. THe Salvation Army stores on Long Island were awesome but the ones here are terrible. I buy from Goodwill down here frequently (very, very frequently) But I am often shocked at how they overprice things sometimes. Once I showed them on the phone that you could get the item for less new on Amazon!

I'd moved out of state for a couple of years, & since back I could not believe the way they price things now. You see their overpriced items sit for a very long time, they will have to come back to reality, especially in this economy. Customers aren't as stupid as they think.
