We are looking at putting up an above ground pool and want to know if there are any rules and regulations regarding them. We are new to the area and there seems to be a lot of regulations. We wanted to replace some of our windows and what a hassel we got about replacing more than 25% of the glass per year without putting up hurricane shutters

North Port has been the news recently for being very aggressive when it comes to code enforcement and collecting the resulting fines. Yes, believe it or not, they require a permit for an above ground pool.

To protect the public from hurricanes and con artists, Florida does have a lot of rules when it comes to construction.

Pools 24 to 47 inches tall seem to be treated like a below ground pool as far as fences go.

Pools 48 inches or taller require a removable ladder. Makes sense to me.

I can't tell you about NP! But in Punta Gorda, they are considering a measure that prevents me from doing a cannon ball! I perfected it when I was younger, but with water restrictions, they don't like having to refill the pool ever time I jump in! :-)

That too, but being at the epicenter, I forget about that, and the aftershocks! Thanksfully after I reach the edge, and my refreshment, I recover quickly!
