I've got a group of friends coming from all directions for lunch and thought that meeting near Rte75 around University Ave. would be good idea Does Lakewood Ranch have anything (not too expensive)?

Can anyone recommend a casual restaurant fairly close to the highway.

Thanks in advance,,

Mikey

There is a new Trader Vic's Island Grill that just opened at Fruitville and Cattlemen, right off 75. It is a big beautiful place with good food, and very reasonably priced. I recommend it!

Im not too familiar with LWR, but Eds Tavern is in downtown LWR. They have very good food, and have a nice sports bar type atmosphere, its a pretty quiet place too, good for visiting. They arent too pricey. Also, down University there is an Applebees, not too far. There is also a WONDERFUL Mexican place Mi Pueblo that is great, and very reasonable. I believe there is also a Carrabas which has great Italian, but is a bit high IMO. University traffic usually flows pretty nicely so I wouldn't worry about going down too far. I do believe either Ed's or Applebees is the closest : )

Yes, Mi Pueblo is nice, and they are open for lunch, I don't believe Carrabas is open for lunch.

Olive R Twist is in one of the newer shipping centers on University near Cattleman. Really good home-made food, reasonable prices. There was a review about it in the Herald several months ago. Also Stonewood Grill has a nice lunch.

They have a Stingray's on University by I-75. It used to be Shell's and has the same food.
