My husband and I have fallen in love with all we've seen and read on Savannah. We hope to finally make it down to explore in November. We're staying in a rental on Tybee island and as I understand it's the seafood festival. But I'd like to know what else we have to see, besides all the regular touristy stuff like the Historic district.

Also, my husband was told that snakes are a big issue in Savannah. Is this true?
Thanks,
Tessa

Snakes??? Where??? That's a new one on me. Except for the pythons that people have gotten tired of as pets and tossed out into the marshes, I don't think Savannah has a problem with snakes. It's usually around the island communities where this happens.

And then there are the alligators. They have been known to crawl up through the storm sewers. They are usually only about 4-5 feet long. Tell your husband not to worry about them either.

The Historic District, of course, is THE thing to see. You could spend all your time there and still not see everything. But just in case you get tired of it, Check out Wormsloe and the Isle of Hope. Don't forget Bonaventure Cemetery. Laurel Grove Cemetery is also interesting as it is spooky!!!

Going to Tybee, you will see Fort Pulaski on your left. Even if you aren't interested in Forts, take time to get a good look inside. It's very interesting.

Take a look at these pictures. You might get some ideas.
