I have a feeling, even if I professionally and eloquently tell them how moronic of an idea this is, I'm going to get blank looks and stares.

My 5 seconds of fame is when Newt Gingrich came down here to speak to the Tea Party, and I got to ask him a question.

Turns out the local AP reporter (this was during the 2012 Primary Debates) tried to get me to give a sound byte after the Newt stuff, and for the first time I became a victim of the media skewing my words and taking them out of context for the story! lol

Speaking of said article... here is the AP version that circulated, and was actually on Yahoo and AbcNews' homepage the next morning! This was around the time in the heat of the primary, and mostly all of Gingrich's staff had resigned because his campaign was going bankrupt (which is why he had to do these speech's/book signings).

I'll let you guys seep through and try to find my quote that was taken out of context on a complete 180. lol

Like I said before, this is a political issue. The black community somehow thinks that the flyover is a boundary to economic progress and that removing it is going to magically restore MLK Boulevard to its former glory. But there has never been any evidence to suggest that will make any difference. The south MLK corridor has much bigger issues than removal of a freeway exit ramp.

Which is my fear, if I go there tomorrow and rip the architects behind the plan, the last thing I want for my own personal safety is for someone to write up in savannahnow that some guy played the race card.

Trust me, if I go there tomorrow, I plan on ripping them into shreds for a really good 10-15 minutes, covering the neighborhood's lack of attraction (going to use the Food Lion that opened and closed in less than 1 year as a prime example), the tourist perspective of driving into town at 2am and navigating through Gwinnett, going to try and talk about the demographics without making it seem like I'm singling out blacks, etc.

Well, I've already arranged for myself to go into the meeting tomorrow.

If any of you have any extra points of note to mention, I'm all eyes and ears.

It's a traffic flow project.

Just curious,if it was something like this ( https://maps.google.com/maps?q=downt...orgia&t=h&z=18 ),do you think they would still want the ramp to be torn down?

I had a two margarita lunch, so unfortunately ... It's probably better that I not be there.
