It's amazing what Gulfstream has done for Savannah/Chatham County. I hope they continue to have success and grow right here in Savannah!

Whenever people bring up the "lack of good jobs" in the Savannah region, I always have to remind them of Gulfstream. Closing in on 10,000 local employees -- one of the largest private employers in the entire state of Georgia.

That's almost THREE TIMES the number of people as the much-ballyhooed Boeing plant employs in Charleston ... and Gulfstream is HEADQUARTERED in Savannah as well. They don't get nearly enough recognition for the enormous economic impact they have on Savannah and the state of Georgia.

It isn't so much the broad "lack of jobs" as it is the lack of high tech jobs.

That said, Gulfstream is one of the few great high paying jobs in the region.

Hope they keep up their forward momentum.

Airbus is in the final stages of building a facility down here in Mobile, AL to compete with Gulfstream. I have been telling people about Gulfstream and what they have done for the community of Savannah. A lot of people in Mobile think that Airbus doesn't have any known competition especially down here in the south. I tell them to look next door at my home state of Georgia and look at Gulfstream they are doing a great job
