Savannah increases number of properties targeted with blight tax (neighborhoods, property tax)

Hopefully, this tax pays off in the end. I still think the city needs to be more aggressive than it has been at going after these properties.

The city more than doubled the number of properties targeted with a blight tax this year in a continued attempt to reduce the amount of unsafe and unsightly structures throughout Savannah’s neighborhoods.

The property tax bills were increased by seven times the normal amount for 84 properties in 2018, following the implementation last year of the Community Redevelopment Tax Incentive ordinance.

I’m not sure I understand what you mean? “North” is South Carolina.
