The MAIN aspects of a REAL zombie are very achievable with modern chemical warfare. Combine a very exaggerated agressiveness and severly damaged executive function.......and wah-lah.......you have a real zombie.....not a fake, movie zombie.

I'm not, but then again I'm not the one making the argument. However, my training is in other scientific fields. Now answer my question: Are you a chem engineer, neurologist, or chem warfare specialist? If you were, I'd be tempted to, I might give you a small amount of credibility based on your training.

Regardless who has which scientific credentials, the burden of proof is on you, not me. Its doesn't take a scientist to poke holes in your argument.

They are? I'd very much like to see one. Do you have any proof?

Are these the real zombies or the ones that are portrayed in the movies?

So is making a chem warfare drug that makes all soldiers want to be ballerinas and dance around in tu-tus. Are you going to suggest that also going to be a drug target for chemical warfare purposes (its equally as silly as a drug that turns people into zombies).

m'kay...like spending billions on drug development to turn them into zombies instead? Got it.

Come on, do you expect me to give a step by step guide to building a chemical capable of making a real zombie, I do not have that knowledge. But I can tell you this, the fastest Intel Microprocessor was built from a bunch of already well established circuit....timing circuits, switching circuits, clock circuits, memory, buses....etc, etc. Same thing applies with Chemical Warfare....one chemical has this effect......another chemical has that effect..........you build this weapon from a vast base of knowledge.......that is why you need experts to do it.

See, you still think that I am joking, I am not. The population in general has a very hard time envisioning things that are very advanced and beyond the grasp of the average individual ( See Leonardo Da Vinci or Nicolosa Tesla).

I dont think is that easy.
Which chemical causes aggressiveness?

the problem is that currently we dont have such chemical...
also what amount would be necessary to actually take effect is another thing.

Molecular Psychiatry - Anger is a wind that blows out the light of the mind (old proverb)

And I am an expert in nothing, you are probably more qualified in EVERYTHING when compared to me. BUT...........that is not the question I asked. Are you a Chemical Engineer or Neurologist who is an expert working in the field of Advanced Chemical Warfare??????

Zombies are very possible, very dumb beings with a high level of violence........yes, those results are very well within the scope of chemical warfare.

China would not start throwing around nukes when a much more limited solution would do the trick.
this also goes both way, are you a chemical engineer or a neurologist who is an expert in chemical warfare??
how can you be so sure, that such chemical exists or easily made?
If it was that easy how come, no body has used it by now?
I am sure any terrorist would love to do this..

I expected you to give a somewhat plausible reasoning to convince me this was doable. Tolune and Xylene aren't plausible options (for reasons I laid out earlier) and you haven't come up with much else by way of reasoning.

Poor analogy. Development of the microprocessor was possible because we understood certain fundamentals of electricity, physics, semi-conductor technology, etc. We DON'T have this fundamental understanding of how the brain works (yet), so its really difficult/impossible to design a drug to a system that you don't know how it works.

You are assuming that you can "throw together" chemicals with have disparate effects on the brain in order to get cumulative effect you desire (e.g. zombies)....it does not work that way, for many reasons.

Da Vinci and Tesla are considered geniuses because they saw how they could apply the fundamental laws of science before anyone else did. The fundamentals weren't a unknown for them. Again, poor analogy.

Default You need a BOAT! (Unless you are landlocked..)

This is a fun thread.

If "Zombies" (the Romero kind or something similar") do take over..Get a decent size boat. If you don't have one, Im sure a few would be left at the marina. get out to sea, and there you go. Live on fresh fish. With a large deck, you can plant veggies. (Stop at Home depot before the power grids fail!) if it's a warm climate you can enjoy the sunsets without fear.Goes good with a martini. (Hit the liquor store also!)

This is assuming it's not the zombies that run, jump or swim. or cyborg zombies with jet packs and lasers. Those are the worst!

tickyul, just admit you want this to happen without having a plausible explanation. I own like 3 zombie survival guides at home. I can admit it, I'm preparing for a riot.

But, none of your reasons make much sense.

Also, unless they are being directly controlled, I doubt there will be any "running" zombies. As in zombies running as fast as some cars like in the movies. That's a cheap film ploy.

Sure, the fresh ones with rabies could run, but when rigor mortis happens, you'd have to be able to develop a way to combat that resistance inside your own body.

I kept looking to see of this somehow linked to theonion.com.

This is amazing (amazingly stupid) coming from the cdc, and full of worthless information. Example;
Quote:
Important documents (copies of your driver’s license, passport, and birth certificate to name a few)
A "copy" of these documents is as worthless as the paper it is on, to be useful you need the actual license, or passport.
