I took physics in college my senior year (45 years ago) and did not take the subject seriously (I was a Biology major). In fact I would not have passed the course if my roommate/physics major-lab assistant had not given me an A in the laboratory part of the course (which I did not earn).

Since that time I have often regretted not taking the subject seriously and have a developed a growing interest in all things physics (the very large and the very small). I have discovered that YouTube is an excellent source of lectures, demonstrations and programming concerning the physical world. The more I watch the closer I come to understanding some of the wild theories out there.

If you have an interest or even questions, check out YouTube.......

So we are supposed to go to youtube and search on tmozer?

If I have any questions or interests I poke around the Internet...

Limiting oneself to one specific Internet website where the video content could be suspect, thats deserves a double

There's no need to be rude. He was simply sharing his newfound enthusiasm for Physics.

I see some people are thin-skinned, there is a difference between being rude (as you say I am) and posting THIS in the Science and Technology forum:

The above is insulting to the people here who take accredited scientific facts over some home-made drivil

Unless of course one takes at face value everything that is posted on YouTube.

If your life long passion is to follow me around in this and other forums taking offense at every little thing I say that you take offense to then settle in for a long ride buddy because I'm not going to change because of a politically correct person...

Apparently you have a bad opinion (like I did) about YouTube content. Sure there is a lot of junk and "homemade drivel". But there are many university and scientific organization produced channels on YouTube that I find very educational and of serious interest.

You're overreacting. Follow you around? I doubt that I have read more than a handful of your posts, and those only on this forum. Again, your comment was rude and uncalled for. I merely pointed that out to you.

If I may
claiming that youtube is worthless is like claiming books are worthless after reading a particularly dumb one. I use youtube for documentaries all the time, it's mostly history but I'd wager it's similar at least to some extent with science and/or physics - as long as you know to avoid whatever drivel history channel produced, you can actually find fascinating stuff there
I don't think there is much potential for conflict in this thread, unless we actually want that?
Yac.

Oh, absolutely. There are many University lectures on the sciences posted to YouTube. For instance, the following is a lecture at Stanford University concerning Einstein's General Theory of Relativity.

Such lectures posted to YouTube are an excellent way to learn about the scientific fields for anyone who is interested but doesn't want to, or can't enroll in college or university courses.

You're welcome. If I were younger I would go back to school and major perhaps in Geology and pursue a career in that field. But at my age I guess I'll just have to get my learning from YouTube.
