Not quite. However we do find our lives controlled by technology in ways that cause disruptions. Just consider the recent computer failures of Southwest and Delta Airlines, for instance.

Are you serious ? What in the world does a computer failure on a commercial aircraft have
anything to do with what I posted ? Soon all our planes and trucks will be automated.
No offense, but before you talk about a topic like this, learn. We all have to take it upon
ourselves to explore these subjects as best we can, because the future is now.

You don't know what I'm referring to, obviously, so let's clarify:

Southwest Airlines flight woes cascade into Friday

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/08/09/bu...r-failure.html

You also should understand that I'm not saying that this is related to the technologies you link to, rather I am simply using it as an example of a significant disruption made possible by technology.

As to the smart dust, global neural system etc. , well I'll believe it when either (A) I see it, or (B) they can compute the power requirements for it and other relevant limiting factors, and argue it to be still feasible without appealing to Moore's Law.

Across the continent. Keeps 'em busy.

I read the articles.

1. A lot of fantasy in those ideas.
2. One site is a bunch of flakes so totally discounted.
3. Don't believe 90% of the crap that comes out of Russia. Most of it is designed to mislead the rest of the world.

So - junk journalism.

I like virtual reality stuff, and holograms. 3D printing, robotic arms that are attached to a wall and can prepare numerous dishes. Technology isn't bad..

I'm from the era where the TV remote had legs. I'm quite pleased to see the marvelous toys we have today.
