I have some files I want to store long term
what are the best quality most long lasting jump drives available
even if they are a little pricey

Flash drives are a commodity and are all pretty much about the same, in my experience. As said above, redundancy is your best protection. Every memory storage technology has it's pros and cons. Nothing lasts forever but I wouldn't choose a flash drive or SSD for long-term storage. Probably the safest even if not the cheapest would be cloud storage and let someone else take care of redundancy and risk mitigation. It's all a matter of how much the data is worth to you.
CD and DVD can last up to 20 years when stored properly.
I'd rely on a CD over a flash drive but it's not nearly as convenient. A lot of computers don't even have CD/DVD drives anymore. So I'll put non-critical data on flash drives and critical data in the cloud.
At least 2, preferably 3 or more copies of you data is best. Original copy on your hard drive, external hard drive, CD or DVD if you have it or a second external, then flash drive in that order would be my choice. Flash drives can go bad in an instant. If you don't plan to use your external drives on a constant basis, unplug them and store in a safe place. You can even get a cheap fireproof safe.
Flash drives are the least reliable, regardless. Sandisk and Kingston are good brands but only marginally better than other brands.
Oh and forgot, the cloud but there are other considerations with that.
How much data? Are we talking about a few gigabytes or a few terabytes?
How important is the data? Family photos, health and tax records, or old utility statements? Many of us are digital packrats and never actually use much of the stuff we store away. How much pain will there be if this data is lost?
How much are you willing to spend? Everyone has a budget. Everyone defines "cheap/expensive" differently so better to express it as a number.

i make documents for different military journals its just a hobby but VERY IMPORTANT to me , A LOT LOT of pain and many of them are pdfs of rare military books

willing to spend upto a thousand dollars
Then offsite cloud storage. Case closed. Any local solution, no matter how reliable the hardware, will be at risk of fire, flood, theft, etc.
