Hey hey.. I just moved to the Seattle/Tacoma area from the east coast. I managed to talk my Boston-based company into letting me telecommute from my home office. Still, I'm thinking of looking for greener fields in the Seattle area. What are the chances of someone with a Master's degree and 4 years+ experience in marketing communications/online editing (high tech industry) walking into a $70K job in the Seattle area? Where are the best places to start my search? Who are the right people to reach out to? I personally find Monster to be a bit of a crap shoot, and working on the east coast, I found breaking into the job market rather difficult - elitist and all about who you know and who you had dinner with the night before, rather than your actual qualifications. Very old-boys-network. Is it like that here?

Step one would be to comb Monster Jobs, Dice.com, Craigslist, CareerBuilders, ect.............
Its a good start to see whats out there. |

yes I would say you have an excellent chance
You could also think of a few companies that you like and look on their job postings. For example microsoft, boeing, washington mutual (I hear they are a great company to work for) google, Honeywell, etc. |
