Just trying to figure out where to pack my reusable bags? In the shipped boxes, or my carry on luggage? We will definitely need to grocery shop as soon as we arrive!

Yes. West Seattle is part of the city, so bring the reusable bags in carry on luggage, although most of the stores sell them too.

I live in West Seattle and make the short drive to Fred Meyer in Burien where there is no plastic bag ban. I shop there for the lower prices, not the plastic bags.

You can still get paper bags for free. No need to bring your own plastic bags.

I like QFC's cloth reusable bags and use them almost exclusively. Why not buy some of them on your first shopping trip, then use them thereafter?

Don't they charge a nickel for paper bags?

Yeah, you're right. A nickel is almost free. I haven't been charged if I'm a bag short (and already rung up), however.

I have some canvas bags that I really like. (WASHABLE!) I want to use my own, and it's not much room to pack up.
