If the article were to factor in genetics of various regions and smaller cities, the list would look very different. Seattle men are most likely trying to compensate for the lack of something else. And the Women - the opposite story.

Seattle has the best looking women, too. Hands down.

In fact, if all cities were fortunate enough to see Seattle maidens each day, there would be no political conflict. Just lots of traffic.

The handsome rating was based on how much men are spending on personal care products...grooming, etc.
What are they spending their money on? In Seattle? Beard trimming scissors? Cannabis deodorant?

This thread makes me giggle. Twenty years ago one of DH's childhood friends married an east coast gal from Brigantine, NJ. Naturally the wedding was held there near her family with a large contingent of PNW groomsmen and friends in attendance. I will always remember the bride's east coast girlfriends swooning over the PNW men. Ooooh, they are so RUGGED! (That, my friends, is a direct quote, lol!)

There were subsequently two more east coast-PNW marriages as a direct result of the first one.

Hipster glasses are expensive. So is hipster plaid and organic, farm-raised, conflict free, vegan-leather, free-range shoes.

It's also super expensive to make your own hemp-soap, and then not use it because showering is what the corporate machine wants you to do.

I remember seeing dental floss at Fred Meyer for $7.99 once. Couldn't believe it. The same product was being sold on Amazon for $1.49

Perhaps Seattle men buy their dental floss at Fred Meyer, lol

What a fun post.. I have to chime in!

I'm an old and weathered matron now so I can speak freely and in jest... but yes, let's put it this way: Had I lived in Seattle as an emerging adult I would be Planned Parenthood's highest paying customer.

It has exactly what I look for and a lot of it.

Yes to Rugged: I simply couldn't be with a man that puts more money into himself than I do, so no hipsters or preppy people. Added bonus if I can wear his flannel and he can build me a customized cabinet for my cat's litter box.

Yes to Techies and Engineers: Nor could I stand to be with someone with less intelligence than I have so no country bumpkins. Added bonus if my man has an advance degree or two: Smart is sexy.

Yes to Internationals: Few are the generations of Americans in my family and I don't relate well to those who've spent their whole lives in a single culture or city... added bonus if he can speak two or more languages.

Seattle is particularly impressive because you can find many males with all three of my desirable attributes. My husband has them and so do 2 of his developers...

Seattle is simply a-mazing.

Philip Seymour Hoffman in skinny jeans and a flannel shirt. So sexy.

Notice how all the top cities in that article also have very high gay male populations. Hence, the grooming. The average straight male in Seattle definitely does not and definitely would not qualify for any attractive male list.

Denver rightfully deserves to be on the list, though. <3

So, the most "prissy" men would be more accurate...
