I'm searching for a safe, reasonably priced 55+ community. I found Huntington Beach in Des Moines and researched the crime statistics in Des Moines. Not great, not bad. I've lived in the Puget Sound (Puyallup) for years, and it's just not what it used to be. I'm seeing the safer communities are just out of my price range. Does anyone have information specific to this 55+ community and the surrounding area? Thank you.

There is a 55+ community near Redondo Beach. I think it's technically Federal Way but it's right on the border between federal way and Des Moines. Only feet away from the water.

Thank you. This may be the one I'm thinking of. I believe Huntington Beach is right there by Redondo Beach. I need to just drive by there I go up to the waterfront and to Salty's for special occasions so I at least know that area. Thank you!!!

Be careful about these so-called 55+ communities. They market to those of this age and above, but many will pay too much for services that they won't use. I would only suggest them if you need these in-house type of services. However, in fairness there are 55+ communities that do not offer the additional services, and they probably are a good deal.

No. I don't. Just looking for a more safe community. And yes, more of them seem to be catering to what you are talking about that.
