Hey, guys.

Does anyone know the cheapest places to stay for just a month or two while you're transitioning between apartments?

Thanks, everyone.

What about renting a storage unit for your things and renting a room from Craig's List for yourself.

Or perhaps it has to do with where it appears he's living - Minnesota.

Buy a dilapidated RV or van and park it anywhere you like (preferably a nice park or somewhere with a view), then sell or abandon it.

This. There are even a number of "RV Ranchers" that rent out dilapidated old RV's to park on the city streets.

The city has a free RV park in Ballard - it's quite popular though so you may have to live on the street. You can plug into people's businesses electric/water and dump your waste on the road. The city doesn't discourage this in any way. Just be aware that if one of your friends overdoses on heroin you need to call it in to 911. If you get caught dumping their body in a shopping cart along the road the city will take that seriously. Anything else goes. You can even deal heroin out of your RV to earn some extra money while you "look for work"

OMG! LOL.. This is so sad, but so true. As for other temporary housing options, I would say a Craigslist room or AirBnb. Just be careful who you rent from. I know the Central District was on lock down the other day as police searched for the remaining missing body parts of that single mom that got murdered and chopped up and then put in people's trash/recycling/compost So sad.

According to our SPD Assistant Chief Steve Wilske:

He also gave an update on the RV situation. As of last month in Ballard, there were about 155 RVs – which is the highest number of any neighborhood in the city.

I actually live here, now, but you all know how hard it can be to find an apartment in this town, so it'd be nice to have a few temporary places as back up while I look for something more permanent, if it comes to that.
