Curious what, on average, utilities run in the city limits?

Electric?
Gas?
Water?
Cable?

Based on two people, 2 bedrooms or more...

We are two people:

Electric = 60.00/month
Gas = 150.00/month in winter 40.00/month in summer
Water & Sewage (same bill) 70.00/month
Cable = Directv 100.00/month

You don't live inside the city limits though. I remember our utilities being much less in the city limits, compared to the 'burbs... but it was so long ago that we lived in the city, I have no idea what the bills used to be.

Wow, electric is cheap!

We pay $120ish+ in Fla... but no gas bill.

Electricity is cheap. Seattle City Light gets most of it's power from dams, so the price isn't affected by the cost of coal. It is also a consumer-owned utility, so there isn't a profit surcharge to produce income for the shareholders.

If your heat is electric, such as electric baseboard, you'll have low or no gas bill and a higher electricity bill. If you don't use an electric clothes dryer except for very heavy things or dog/cat beds, your electric bill will be lower; dryers skyrocket the bill.

MG, you forgot to mention the two dogs in your family, who surely use up lots of cable, right? :-)

Whether you have Puget Sound Energy, Seattle City Light, or are in a PUD district, etc, electricity is general cheaper here than in most of the country. It used to be the cheapest in the nation, although that might not be true today.
