Hello all,

I am relocating to Seattle shortly and am looking for rental apts. Can someone suggest which areas would be good? I was told areas like Ballard, Queen Anne, Capitol Hill, Bellvue. What would be the rental rates in these areas? My budget would be between $600-$850.

Many thanks,
Pari

Bellevue is a suburb of Seattle. The other neighborhoods are great but you would be looking at a studio in those areas for that price range. Ballard is more affordable than Capital Hill and Queen Anne so you may be able to find a one bedroom at the upper end of your range.

Also the classifieds in the Seattle Times, I think they're called NW Source or something like that.

You could find mostly studios in those areas and some 1 bedrooms. Do you have a car or are you using the bus? What kind of neighborhood are you looking for. If people are suggesting those areas you may also wanna look at U District, Lake City, Northgate and Greenwood.

I lived in a studio at the bottom of Queen Anne (many moons ago) I noticed that many studios in these older neighborhoods and older buildings are actually quite big compared to the modern idea of studio. Since even the top end of your budget might be a stretch for a 1 bdr., dont discount the idea of a studio, you may be surprised at what you find out there with a little patience.

Good Luck

There's a big difference between Ballard and Bellevue. Location, location, location. Will you be working and/or studying in downtown Seattle?
