Totally possible. Check out West Seattle - great community, still Seattle and closer to Tukwila. It is about as suburban as I would get. There is NOTHING to do in Tukwila, Kent, Burien, Renton, Federal Way or any of the other places people have mentioned. You might as will stay in suburban Illinois. I say that as someone who moved here from Minneapolis btw.

I'll agree with suzym27 that West Seattle is a great place. Where I'll disagree is that the towns she mentions have nothing to do. She obviously hasn't spent much time in Renton, because there is a lot to do there, and I've spent some time in Old Burien, where there is stuff to do. Can't really comment on Tukwila or Kent or Federal Way because I haven't spent much time there, but I don't think suzym27 has spent much time there either before deciding that those places have nothing to do.
