Anyone know where the growing areas are? South Lake Union or East Lake Union? Lake Stevens? Anywhere down south? All these people that are moving or want to move Seattle must be looking in a few key areas. Is there a website showing demographic data like this? For instance, I don't think there's any growth in Shoreline/Edmonds area but I could be wrong.

They are expecting another million people living in the Puget Sound area in the next 15 years. Some areas will grow faster than others, but if those numbers are accurate there will be plenty of growth to go around.

Default Parts of the city growing up, mostly the fringe is growing out

In the city:
South Lake Union has been growing extremely quickly (it is literally undergoing a transformation)
Belltown is still growing upwards but not as quickly as it was a few years ago.
Anywhere on the new Central Link light rail line is getting mixed use development and multi-family housing.
The University District and Ballard (already major hubs) are being built up.
Northgate went from a mall to a neighborhood and now it is becoming another hub.
In the metro area:
Bellevue's downtown has exploded upwards in the last decade
Issaquah
Renton
I'd say the whole eastside is expanding at the edges

Some places have seen tremendous growth but I don't think will continue to. Bonney Lake and Covington for example, have lots of new retail, lots of new housing, and a lot of that is vacant.
South Lake Union will continue to grow, the Bel-Red corridor in Cellevue is going to undergo big changes...I think some of the less desirable fringes will also grow a lot, places like Skyway and White center, because they're 15-20 minutes from downtown Seattle, are relatively inexpensive, and if people and businesses are relocating to the Seattle area, they've got to go somewhere.
