She's only obeying her Democratic Party masters. Here's a post she made in an EDC discussion a few months ago. There's a link to the thread at the bottom. It's interesting reading and not many S-S & P people have seen it.

What's your EDC? What should it be?

I checked out your link...very interesting. But whatever possessed you to post it over in Retirement??? It belongs over here. Once in awhile, I'll find something of interest in Retirement, but usually those folks are 180 opposed to my outlook on life. I had to chuckle when I saw their reaction to you carrying a little handgun. They have no clue. Looks like this isn't the only board being overrun lately by liberal city slickers.

Once they join AARP, they're ruined forever!

I'm recruiting old people. They don't all have pictures of Obama next to their beds that they kiss every night. I think that there may be fewer leftist regullars there than here. The very name of this forum is like waving a red flag to many of them.

Take a look at these.

i found some material on Youtube that may be of interest. His user name is Tubl Cain, but he is not the same man as the author and engineer who used that pen name

There are four parts to this video. Watching it will ither drive you crazy or delight you. There are tools here that everyone should have on hand and know how to use,

I did take a look at them.

Not surprised to find that they are running 70/30 to 75/25 in favor of the left. Full of AARP lovers, gun haters/fearers, and folks convinced that Christianity is the root of all evil, while public transit is always opposed by conservatives. Exactly what I suspected.

If these are the old geezers you're "recruiting", you have mighty poor pickin's. I religiously avoid anything to do with "elderly" causes...seniors are among the most preyed-upon and discriminated-against groups in this country. And no...I won't join AARP for protection!

The only thing that the elderly have in common is being elderly. I'm not in the AARP; I've never been to a ''senior center.'' We need some more survivalists here and we're sure not finding them on the gun forum. I don't think that half of them there have even fired a gun. We can't keep this forum alive and healthy without more posters. The Latin and Greek language fora are far livelier. I'm not being sarcastic.

I just haven't found a good survivalist message board in years, If you know of any please let me know.

trouble is there are lots of people on survival forums that call themselves preppers, but they are nothing of the sort, many don't last long and go onto the next "cool" thing, then of course there are the trolls who have no interest in the subject but just want to start an argument to show just how "superior" they are.

All of this is true enough. But it's hard enough to find non-leftists anywhere on CD; to expect them to also become "survivalists" is a bit of a stretch. Only a miniscule percentage of the public in the US -- I'd say about 1% or less -- are truly into survivalism or "prepping". Probably not many more are interested in being truly self-sufficient. Our gov't has made it too darn easy and convenient for us to be lazy and simply trust that all will go smoothly. I imagine the numbers in the UK are just as bad, if not worse.

So, the true "conversation" on the SS&P forum takes place among perhaps 12 or fewer really interested persons, and we all know who they are and what they have to say, by now. That is why it's so important to encourage newcomers to this board. However, if they are just going to be argumentative and annoying, we don't need that, either. Once we get a serious discussion going, interruption by someone who feels we are all wrong and butts in to tell us so, is counter-productive. I don't have the answer.

Why does this bring to mind the cartoon of the little guy with a white beard, carrying around a sign saying, "The End of the World is Coming!".

yes, the number of true survivalists in the UK is much less than 1%, many who inhabit prepping sites over here are just in it for the "social" side..the odd meet up maybe a weekend camp...nothing serious..usually on a camping site with running water, toilets and showers and usually a shop or café on site as well!! I can probably name most of the serious survivalists on the fingers of one hand, I have met a few over the years and not many fit into the "serious" category, and they seem to drop out of sight with increasing regularity never to be heard of again.

Utility and communication companies routinely purchase right-of-way easements on private property. If there is a locked gate, as part of the easement rights each company gets the right to add a lock in a "daisy chain" configuration or similar. I work in the utility industry, and I've seen chains of a half-dozen locks or more. Anyone with a key to any one lock can open the chain, but cannot mess with the other locks.

The problem is that, with proper tools, it's sometimes possible to add a lock to the chain without permission. I've personally added a lock to a chain in this way, but I did have permission. Bolt cutters could be used to remove an unknown lock. Or, if some obliviot puts his lock back incorrectly which bypasses the other locks so the chain no longer works. I've been locked out in this way before.

Be careful, though... in some states a set of bolt cutters in a vehicle is officially considered a "burglary tool". If they are spotted by the wrong cop in the wrong place they can give probable cause for a more thorough search and seizure.

You should try recruiting in the Politics and Other Controversies forum. The majority of people who hang out there are extreme conservatives.
