He's a bad shot. but has a great deal of cool stuff stashed back. He may wing me, but I have several rolls of duct tape for such occasions. Be prepared, right?

More afraid of Mother Nature happening than any of the doom and gloom. Stockpiling, not cause of fear but because my food tastes better than the shop stuff and everyone should learn to can and preserve food. Also everyone should learn how to grow a vegetable garden and tend it..even the urbanites! Tis possible, even in a high rise apt. Might not be as big as mine but at least it is something.

You country boys might be able to "servive", however spelling, on the other hand...

I know , I caught it after I hit the "Submit reply" button, Oooops! Oh well, I never said I was a teacher or a college grad. I like spell check .

But then again, I know some of them that can't even tell you what all the colors of our Nations flag mean and the total break down of the flag.

F*** 2012.
  1. Hurricanes are a real threat.
  2. Economic downturns are a very real threat.
  3. Large spikes in oil prices leading to economic downturns are a real threat.
  4. Social "unrest" (i.e. revolution or whatever euphemism they use for it) are real threats, especially if the economy sinks, which is likely (Yes, it's up today, just like it was in the depression). Please read the depression history wiki before replying.
Would you rather have preparations made and not need it, or need it and not have it?

Yep, who says 2012 has a THING to do with people wanting to be prepared for a worst case deal. I have been cut off before, by a flood, without having had some stores, we would have been hurtin' for certain. One thing that people take for granted all to often is good old salt. Keep a good supply of the magic crystal. It is good for curing food, and has a myriad of medical uses as well. Aspirin, or other fever reducer/pain relieving medicines are good to have on hand as well. When a bad situation arises, it is often the 'little' things you will need the most.
