After they shoved the order form in my face and told me all these wonderful things that they were going to do with their lives, I agreed to buy one. Once I said I would not buy 2, one of the boys took off and jumped in the Explorer that kept circling by. Then, I was facing this 5' 8" blond haired, blue eyes kid that 100% worked me into giving him 55 bucks. It was freezing outside and I let him come in, once he was in he sat at my table and was looking at everything we had sitting there - thank goodness nothing of importance was there. I didn't have any more checks so he told me that I could take him to the ATM...WHAT??? I ended up taking it from my kids hidden bank and once he left, I felt like a complete idiot. I immediately got online and saw all the scam information and the F grade on the BBB. I sent the cancellation the next morning and sent an email. I got a response telling me that I had to send the form within 3 days, I informed them that I had sent it and please give me the status of my refund. I have sent the same email every single day now and have no response. And conveniently, I went to log on to the website www.dynasty211.com and it is it down for maintenance. I have a feeling I am never going to get my 55 bucks back. We NEVER buy door to door and this time we were fully suckered by "Justin Silverheels" - who, I might add has a record in another state. Stupid, stupid, stupid!!!
Wow, are you lucky to allow a complete stranger into the house, that you did not end up losing more than a few bucks!

A common scam, you allow two inside your house for a glass of water or something, one keeps you busy while the other 'goes to the bathroom' but in fact is looting the place.

Never ever even OPEN THE DOOR to a stranger, especially if you are home alone. I answer from an upstairs window and just tell them to go away and make sure I see them go.

I saw some tv show about this.
The guys in the show picked up homeless kids and kept them working for peanuts, driving around the country, something like those wandering gypsy home repair guys, the Wanderers or something.

When I lived in Jersey anyone soliciting door to door had to register with the local police first. I don't know if this is a state or federal law. You could always call the police to see if they are legit.

I think some of you guys should watch those true crime shows on tv. There are all sorts of scary people in the world and some look nice and intelligent and friendly, like Ted Bundy.

Please protect yourself and just do not answer the door if you are home alone. If you are not alone, make sure the other person knows what you are doing and is nearby to call the cops if you have to. Have the police number on autodial. Even keep protection where you can get at it in a hurry. Better safe than sorry.

You don't want to be a statistic.

I too got pressured by a ragged looking teenage girl on 4/2/12. I fell for her sob story and have waited patiently for my subscription. I didn't realize this until I went to their website today to ask where my magazine was and tried every which way to get in touch with them to no avail. Oops, on a fixed budget and spent $55 for a magazine I'll never get. I'm searching for a "do not solicit" sign that I can post on my front door and will not ever again fall for such a scam. Shame on me.
