Shopping on the phone? (credit cards, shop, offer, credit)

How safe is it to shop by phone using debit card (provided by the bank)? Is it the same as using a credit card?

I don't think it would be wise to use a debit card.

Debit cards are plastic checks, thus they have none of the safeties of credit cards (even though many now carry the logo of a credit card).

Credit cards offer protections that a debit card doesn't.....

As long as YOU call the vendor, it's as safe as swiping your card in a physical store! Never give your cc number to anyone who call's YOU!
