I'm pretty clueless when it comes to jewelry, I want to get some nice Christmas gifts though

I found this on FatWallets:

10K Gold BirthStone Necklaces $34.99 ($29.99 with Email Coupon) - Shopko

A bunch of birthstone necklaces, I might just buy them based on stone type rather than month...but do you all think $29.99 is a good deal on this or should I hold on to my money for a better jewelry deal? I am kinda skeptical about the quality of items at this price.

Average pricing, probably able to duplicate it in most low priced stores .
If you check details, you'll see that the chain is gold filled, not solid gold.
Gold filled is a base metal covered in a thin layer of gold

Support old_cold's view, and I don't like the designs.

Most cheap jewelry has about a 500% markup so you can figure out how much it's really worth.
