My Oldest Grandson and his wife just had a baby - my first GreatGrandSon!!!!

Like many young couples, they are struggling somewhat - they have one older car that has not been the most reliable.

I bought them a 2 yr old Ford Explorer (certified used) for Christmas - had it delivered and with a Red Bow on top -

I'm not even telling my wife how much "we" spent!!!

This year my son and his wife got the "big" one. Since they had a child in Sept and he is in Iraq and is going to miss all the cool stuff that happens the 1st year, we bought them a camcorder with all the trimmings.
The total came to approx $900.00.

Normally we wouldn't do that but hey...1st year stuff only comes once.

Sent home a Disney trip (tickets, confirmations & itineraries) for mom, sis & niece one year. Have no idea now how much it was all together. Arranged hotel ... getting them down there, via telephone all a la carte back in those pre-historic- Internet days.

Another Disney trip for Mom a few years later. I paid in installments along with mine, so really forget. Guess I'm senile.
Oh, PRICELESS!!

Gave my parents trip to Hawaii one year. My brother and I split the cost of 2 round trip/accomodations/tours for them. They added a second week and had the vacation of their lifetime!

Nye, the most I've spent on a single gift was $360 - and that was for a Halo Edition XBox 360.

We all chipped in and bought my son a 32" HDTV this year. As the mom, I chipped in the most ....but he was real happy even though he didn't even rate a cheap additional stocking stuffer for Christmas morning.

The most I've ever spent is probably well under 100. I'm as frugal as they come and buy things on sale during the year so that I don't have huge price tags to cover come Christmas and Chanukkah.
