Garment Rack - how much weight? (deal, clothing, buy, coat)

I'm looking to buy a garment rack, but I have dealt with flimsy ones in the past and want to make sure I get one which can handle more weight.

I need something that holds what is currently hanging in a 6ft, single bar closet that is PACKED with clothes. It mostly has dresses and lightweight clothing, but it has about 5 heavy coats also.

How much weight would you estimate I need the rack to hold?

Are there any designs sturdier than others (ie. a z-rack vs double bars on the bottom)?

I'm looking to spend about $50-60; it is possibly to get a decent quality rack in that range?

Any suggestions/experience with specific brands or places to buy these?

No way for us to know that... only YOU can.

Weigh what you have. Find the appropriate rack that is rated for that weight.

meh. I would make one. Gas pipe (commonly known as black pipe) or EMT would form a strong rack. The supports could be metal or better yet wood, so that there could be a shelf on top.

1. People with experience in this may be good at estimating weight. There are people who are good at that sort of thing. When it comes to something I have experience with, then I can estimate weight when given an approximate quantity (ie. how much a certain amount of paper sheets will weigh).
I don't have a scale to weigh all of my clothes .

2. Many racks don't tell you their weight capacity. Hence, I am asking if anyone has experience with this. They may have a rack and know approx what it holds, etc.

If you have nothing useful to post, then please refrain.

I don't have the skills to make my own rack. I'm sure it's not that hard if you know how to do stuff like that in general.
