Glad I looked carefully because both coupons had a 3/2015 expiration date.

You need to take them in and complain - loudly - if they don't accept them. I'd take it to corporate too - that's a classic case of bait-and-switch, and nobody should stand for it. I'd even file a complaint with the BBB - since it's so easy to do on their website.
