Used to go to quiznos for a decent part of 2007 to 2010. Will admit the coupons were the main draw, following by punch cards, followed by polenta bread that came with the soups, angus subs, then the $4 torpedoes, Sammies.
So they went from 5000 stores to 1000 stores now. Read up that franchisees weren't being looked after by corporate, and they were skimming profits from food that were 39 to 40% of their costs (vs. Subway or McDonalds that were only 30%). There was also when a franchisee committed suicide, new stores being opened too close to existing ones, and franchisees saying corporate doesn't care about them, and how divorce and losing life savings weren't uncommon. Corporate also hid how franchisees had a higher fail rate even the stores that aren't considered so good now like McD and Subway, but at least they're doing better.
I guess they're still staying in, like Sbarros even though they should've closed down too?
