I received some mail today from Neilson regarding their household television survey. Within the package was two $1 bills. I'm not sure if I'll fill out the survey, but the money certainly makes it more likely that I will

Has anyone else experienced this?

Last time, quite a while ago, I got that and it was only $1.Too much "bookwork" for me.
People really interested in TV are probably the ones that might do it...or the easily guilted.
Sure ain't because of the pay scale!

The survey you fill out for the $1 is for Neilson to determine whether you will become a "Neilson family."
There is no paperwork if you are selected because you wear a meter that sends data to Neilson.

Nielsen Families | Nielsen Panel, Consumer Purchasing Habits | Nielsen

For wearing the meter, you receive a monthly check usually $25. For some folks it is more.

Ah, ok, thanks! Yeah I just thought it was all very interesting. I wouldn't mind being selected and getting $25 or more a month for wearing the meter.

Got one dollar several years ago. I cannot participate in any type of research, however.

Bulk solicitors have been increasing the amount of the incentive/guilt cash mailed out since the days of the March of Dimes

That's very common. I got a buck recently for a J.D. Powers survey. And years ago, I kept a 2-week log on radio listening habits. Every few days, I received a couple of bucks in the mail.

Recently, my family was selected to have trackers for what we watch on Tv for them. One tracker was $15 and month and also the chance for random $50 gift card(s). We ended up deciding not to do it, they had some stipulations and it wasn't feasible.
