Shoppers place packages of raw poultry/meat in their shopping carts, most sitting at the bottom of the cart (and without putting the packages in plastic bags first).
The next shopper(s) using those carts place their items in the same spot in the cart . . .so it's not just the shopping cart handle that can be the culprit - nor is it the conveyor belt at checkout.
Plus, those who handle packages of raw meat products then handle other items in the store as well.
