Bar tabs were a rip off 50 years ago.
I see nothing has changed.

No credit cards then, but 3 bars outside the Naval Air Station allowed sailors to have bar tabs payable on payday.

I never used one because it was common knowledge they got " padded" to more than make up for sailors who skipped out.
