Anyone recently researched or bought one? There seem to be several types, ceramic, oil inside, infra red?
I just moved into a house with an original boiler (51 years old). I read that you shouldn' really move the temp more than 5 degrees one way or another. So unlike with a "regular" furnace with an electric thermostat that you can turn way down at night etc. I'm going to have to pick a temp and a stay close to it.
So I will probably go with the cooler side of things and was wondering about something easy to drag/carry from room to room. Not to heat the whole room so much but just me, when I feel I need it, I live alone except for 2 cats and they won't care.
I live in a cold state where electricity is expensive. The boiler is natural gas.

Advice, recommendations?
I like oil heaters. I have a couple of them that were given to me by my former landlord 20 years ago. They were old at that time, but they still work even now. I still use one in my bathroom, which doesn't have any heater in it. They are on wheels so they are easy to move, but they do get very hot. So if you don't want to let them cool down before moving it, it would probably be a good idea to use oven mitts when moving it.
I have a few oil heaters as well that I use to supplement my furnace when it's super cold, or in my bedroom that's built over the porch and is always colder than the rest of the house. I feel confident leaving them on all night. They do a great job.
