I need help with ideas on what boys ages 2 & 4 would like. There was a post on our Nextdoor where their father is dying from cancer and the mom needs help. Someone mentioned Legos, which are pricey. Anything else?

You mean she needs help for their Christmas presents?
Boys like active toys, like a T-ball stand, or basketball hoop..age appropriate designs.
The older one would probably like Hot wheels cars, and the baby should be easy to buy for.

Yes Xmas. Thanks for the link to Walmart. they have some legos that are at a decent price. Target's were all $40-$50. Do they play T-Ball in the house? Long winter here.

Don't buy Legos for that age group. Most 4 yr olds would find them frustrating, and they are dangerous around a 2 yr old. They do make larger bricks called Duplo, but they have limited use unless you get a large set.

I'd stick to things like cars, trucks, action figures, and toys that tie-in the tv shows they might watch, such as Paw Patrol. Melissa and Doug toys are popular for that age group too. Check out the offerings at stores like TJ Maxx and Home Goods. They often have toys you can't find at mass retailers, and at great prices.

Depending upon how well you know the family, an offer of an outing for the boys to give the mother a break would be appreciated? Toys clutter. Experiences last a lifetime sometimes.

I don't know this woman at all - not even her name.

Sidewalk chalk. My kids spent hours drawing on the driveway and porch. And you can hose it off.
