Wal-Mart plans to open its first Hispanic-focused supermarkets this summer in Arizona and Texas as the largest US retailer continues its drive to expand its dominance of the US grocery business.

The pilot stores, named Supermercado de Walmart, will open in Phoenix and Houston in remodelled 39,000 sq ft locations occupied previously by two of Wal-Mart’s Neighborhood Market stores.

They are just moving into a already established market in Houston at least. Even where I live there is a super market that basically is pure mexican in every way. Nothing like the more common type of super market here.Like going to a italian market in the northeast.

Seems like they have focused on the market anyway.
The Wal-Mart I work at has a lot of foods that appeal to Hispanic buyers.
We don't have a lot of Hispanic buyers but I try to converse with people in Spanish if I feel they may not speak English very well.
