I wont benefit in any way from this post so I hope it's ok to mention this item. I'm always on the lookout for inexpensive gifts for Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries and house-warmings. I recently found an item that worked well for all those occasions and doesnt cost a lot.
The item is an Outdoor Window Thermometer. It comes with a battery; I bought my thermometer a year ago and just recently had to put in a new battery. I wasnt thinking about buying it as a gift for anyone back then -- but, as I found how much I enjoyed it and how often I check the window throughout the day, I realized that it would be a great gift for others. I bought a dozen of them for Christmas gifts and everyone loved them.
You can google La Crosse Outdoor Window Thermometer and find a gazillion sites that sell it. I got all of mine for $12.99 each.
