Printer ink—which often costs more than the damn printer itself—immediately comes to mind. So do razor blade cartridges that cost more than $4 a pop.

Yes, that's the biggest legal racket right there.

Here's how I beat it.

I order my ink cartridges online at discount sites. So if you have an HP printer they will have the exact compatible cartridge type for a fraction of the price.

Razor blades - Simple. Go to Costco, BJ's, Sam's and buy in bulk.

Gain leverage!

I find planned obsolescence quite annoying. Companies are literally designing stuff so that it breaks after a certain amount of usage, not seldom shortly after the warranty period is over.
