Shreveport has issues. Our roads are horrible. Crime is running rampant in our streets. Our unemployment still has not dropped below 7.7%. Our economy is sluggish and our infrastructure is crumbling. I personally am closer to a Democrat than a Republican, but I'm a practical man and I believe sometimes a more libertarian approach is best. Look at how long the construction of that overpass over I-220 has taken! I care for the environment and I want to end the corrupting influence of money in Louisiana politics. I want to bring real change to Shreveport, since I'm seeing our current mayor hasn't I believe it was due to Hillary's many scandals and her ties to Wall Street. Sanders wasn't perfect, but he was far closer to my beliefs than Hillary. I'm a new dealer and I don't mess with that stupid "social justice warrior" crap that needlessly controls our people's thoughts and slows down discourse. If you are confused about my post posts about wanting to leave Shreveport, I decided I would stay and try to fix things. That said, I will need input from lots of regular people before I feel confident I am doing what is best for the people.

I'd assume Shreveport is conservative democrat, which would be hard to sell Bernie type policies. I was a Bernie supporter but was never going to vote for Clinton.

Hmmmm. Something I considered was flaunting state paw and not having cannibus laws be enforced in the city. I'm not sure if the mayor can do that, but its an idea to bring in revenue.

I wouldn't go about it that way. Better idea would be to run a grassroots campaign and get it on the ballot. You'd have to fight the police unions and private prison owners but it'll pass if you can get it on the ballot.

This is why, if I did run, I would surround myself with advisors. I have a lot of half-baked ideas that need a sounding board to let me know if they are wise or not.

Would a tax break for high tech business bring more of those jobs in? Or do you have other ideas?

You can give all the tax breaks in the world, but the real barrier Shreveport faces to attracting businesses, especially hi-tech, is lack of an educated workforce. If you're a business, it doesn't do any good to receive tax breaks if there are no people to fill the positions.
Shreveport has faced this problem since the oil bust of the 80s. Turning that aircraft carrier around will be no easy task.
