Construction Employment? (Sioux Falls, Henry: homes, contractors, maintenance)

What are the largest Construction and highway maintenance companies in the Sioux Falls area?

I am a northern Illinois union construction foreman with 15 years experience. I will be looking for new employment in the Sioux Falls area in one year. My wife and I will be moving there after she finishes her Master's degree here in IL. Thanks.

Sioux Falls Construction, Beck and Hofer, Gil Haugan, and Myrl and Roys Paving are the ones that immediately come to mind as doing the large jobs around here. There are probably a few more, the jobs get spread around pretty good. It won't do any good to bang the union drum around here either. South Dakota is a "right to work" state, so unions aren't very prevalent.

Henry Carlson (large commercial buildings primarily) and Blacktop Paving (roads) are a couple other very large construction companies. Other pretty active commercial construction companies are Peska and Jans Corporation. Just outside of town is Hoogedorn Construction.

There are multiple residential companies building in this town. Some of the larger residential builders are the Dunham Companies, Daniels Construction, and Ronning Enterprises. All 3 build medium priced homes seldom getting into the nicer home constructions.

As mentioned, there are a lot of contractors all doing fairly well.
