That's pretty good.
I do think, however, that had Orlando played its opener at the Citrus Bowl like it did the past 2 seasons, it would have beat that. Last year was 60,147.

Very nice, glad to see football (REAL football) is getting the recognition it truly deserves in the states. Once it takes over, it's a wrap.

What about Arsenal 59,989, West Ham 56,960, Bayern Munich 75,000, Shalke 60,751, Real Madrid 68,951?

They all currently have larger crowds (see European Football Statistics for this).

I saw that news, but I am not impressed yet. I want to see if the city of Atlanta can maintain those types of crowds after the new car smell wears off. The wife and I will attend at least 5 games with Atlanta United though and we have already tailgated at 2 of the home games. The JenkinsEar2K Derby will be the one of epicness.

It cold take over simply because the culture is new. US Sports Media hasnt ruined the sport yet, by playing favorites. The league is still small so the talent level isnt watered down like MLB, NFL and NBA. I have to admit the baseball has pushed me toward soccer locally.

I think baseball can push anyone towards any other sport, seriously...baseball is b-o-r-i-n-g. They get paid 20 times more than what REAL competitors in other sports do, it's sickening.
