What are the main industries in SC? Is it agriculture? Tourism? Other? Are there any large corporations headquartered there? And is it a wealthy state?
It might be an odd question, but I'm planning a trip to Hilton Head Island and Charleston this summer, and I'm qurious about the state and the life of people living there. So, anyone who want's to enlighten me?
S.C. is commonly known as a poor state comparatively speaking. Tourism and forestry are really big here as percentages of the state's GDP. Insurance is big in the Midlands. Manufacturing is big in the Upstate. Health care is big in many areas of the state.

Yes, agriculture and tourism are big sectors of the South Carolina economy, but there's so much more....
Here's just a few brands that you'll probably recognize that are based here in South Carolina:
BMW North American Manufacturing HQ
Michelin Tires North America HQ
Denny's Corporate HQ
Adidas HQ
Fuji Film North America HQ
Milliken Fibers HQ
Also Boeing's new 787 assembly plant recently announced plans to locate here.
I'm sure no one would call South Carolina a "wealthy state" in relative terms, but the two cities that you'll be visiting are known for their relative wealth in parts. Hilton Head is considered one of the more expensive beach spots in South Carolina, and several celebrities have large homes in that area. As for Charleston, well you'll see when you're walking along The Battery some of the most palatial row mansions that have become a symbol for Charleston. It's like nowhere else I can think of.

Maybe you ought to specify where you're talking about for those who are unfamiliar with the state.
Also, Blue Cross Blue Shield is not HQ in South Carolina. BCBS of SC is located in Columbia. Just to clarify. Furthermore, Adidas is not HQ in SC, but operates a facility in Spartanburg.
Just because I'm familiar with what's in Columbia (Columbiadata - hint, hint) doesn't mean I felt compelled to mention which part of the state the businesses I listed are in. But yes, you are correct. I made a major omission by not putting the "of SC" on the end of BC&BS. It wasn't on purpose.

I'm confused. I'm just suggesting that you say where the industries you listed are located.
Why? The original poster asked what the main industries and businesses in SC are, not Columbia.
