Chapin - Lexington County Public Transportation (Columbia, Newberry: taxi, income, to live in)

Hi Members,
I would be shifting newly to chapin.
I dont have a car so would prefer to travel to my office-home to and fro by public transport.
Is there any public transport other than Taxi-cab in chapin-SC.

I have not seen any buses that run out here; there may be some ride-share programs as an option, but not sure where one would find info on those...

I think there's still a park and ride bus that comes from Newberry, about 20 miles northwest of Chapin. I don't know if they stop in Chapin. I haven't heard of a Chapin-to-Columbia bus per say. Lexington County officials still seem to think only low-income people have a need for or should want to use public transportation.

It's non-existent. A car is essential if you want to live in the area.

Even in downtown Columbia, the public transport options are fairly limited.

Unfortunately Public Transportation may be considered a curse word in some parts of the Midlands. Is your job in Chapin or another part of the Midlands? If it is elsewhere you may want to consider an alternative community that is closer to the public transit options that we do have.
