Hi All, I'm new to this forum and will be relocating to Beaufort, SC for work. I will be living alone and am a single female in my mid 30's and have found a few rental options. What are your thoughts on safety around the following areas?:
16th st. and London, Port Royal
Lady's island marina area
Sunset bluff, lady's island
**any opinions are welcome!!
I travel frequently for work, often arriving home late at night.
Am also wanting to ID the place where a breakin would be least likely when I'm away. Where would you feel would be safest for a single female?
I am visiting the area but wanted to gain some insight beforehand.
I live in Beaufort, near Port Royal, and have had no issues in the 6 months we've been here. We are usually home by 11 PM...plenty of police in Beaufort, and our experience with Lady's Island is there are thefts here and there, but nothing scary.
We moved from suburban Philly, and feel safe here.
Alright, so looking at lady's island it seems like there have been a bunch if armed robberies on Sea Island pkwy over the past several months. Dairy Queen in May, Circle K in July, McDs in March.
I'm looking at a place near Lady's island marina and am now starting to wonder how safe this area really is.....
My wife has been showing me how the crime seems to be pretty bad in Beaufort. We'll be moving to the area in the Spring. Every city has its crime but we've always lived in the part of town that had the least. It seems to be a little difficult to find a part of the Beaufort/Bluffton area that has crime as low as we've been accustomed to. I was thinking Lady's Island was going to be the area we moved to, but even there seems to be quite a bit of petty theft, robbery, break ins, etc.
