The central Midlands turned it around with more flocking to the area in the past year than the year before. I anticipate more of the same.

Mainly retirees. Charleston has more of a mix though since it has real industries.

How many did Spartanburg add? Link not opening for me right now.

2,143, or only 0.7%, so Greenville-Anderson-Mauldin-Easley might be glad it's not included. Anderson County's gain of 1,284 was also a 0.7 increase for the county, thus pulling down the Greenville-Anderson-Mauldin-Easley's growth rate.

I'd bet Sumter added less than 500.

What about the Charlotte metro counties (York, Lancaster, Chester)?

Thank you CD. Rates are relevant to current size. If a town has 1 person and adds 1 person, percentage wise astronomical growth for that town. That's why I asked how many people they added. I think it's Greenville-Mauldin-Anderson.

Census bureau estimates say South Carolina home to the three fastest growing Metro communities on the Atlantic coast in 2013.

Charleston, Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head are among the fastest growing areas on the Atlantic Coast – The Post and Courier

Sumter lost 4. I don't keep up with county population growth unless it's local. Outside of the local scene I follow on city and MSA figures. Charlotte's MSA grew at 1.8% to Raleigh's 2.something%. BTW, Newberry County lost 66.
