I think that the Walmart business model is not a good thing for America or American jobs. The quality of the meat and produce, at least locally, was utterly awful when I did patronize Walmart. I have been in a Walmart, maybe, a total of 4 times in the past 4 or 5 years. I would rather pay a bit more for healthier food items and higher quality and AMERICAN MADE home items. I'm just grateful that we still have shopping choices....for now, at least.
I buy a few things from Walmart every week, and to be frank, as soon as my youngest child is fully potty trained, I wont have much of a need to go there any more except for the occasional one-off cheap-o item. Despite living in the Ninety Six area, I still travel to that side of town to patronize Publix on a weekly basis. Even if Walmart on the other side of town does close, there will still be plenty of reasons to visit stores in that area.
