Hello! I currently live in Maryland and my boyfriend and myself are looking to move to South Carolina. We have looked into Florence and Conway. We also would like to have a VW dealer somewhat nearby. Any feedback on these two towns for a mid-twenties couple?

Either one is fine, Florence is the larger city of the two in regards to population. Conway is closer to the coast it is minutes away from Myrtle Beach.

They're things to do it both cities, Florence has a Civic Center that regularly have national shows and concerts. Downtown is undergoing a massive multi-million dollar revitalization there is a new Performing Arts Center, Museum, and some other things that are on the way. I would say it is quickly becoming a very progressive city after years of trying to maintain a small town feel. Conway is a nice town very beautiful, the river walk area, CCU for football and basketball and minutes from the beach. Both are great, the downside to Florence would be that there are no professional sports teams, atleast with Conway you have a minor league baseball team not far away in MB, but the traffic is herendous, horrible any other adjective you want to use to describe the lack of road structure there. Florence road structure is decent two interstate hwys to get you anywhere in the country.

I would probably give the nod to Conway honestly...you get the small town type of feel in Conway that you might find appealing about Florence and in Conway you are only 15 mins or so from Myrtle Beach and all it has to offer so you have the best of both worlds there.
