Can anyone recommend a good place to live in Sioux Falls that includes most of the utilities. I am also looking for a good rent like 450-650 a month for a one bedroom. I am thinking of moving there and any info you can give me would be helpful. I am currently looking for a job online up there. I have 13 years Customer Service Experience with 4 of those years in Management. I would like to find a job and move up there by September. Thanks.

Have you checked into CitiBank for a job? I know they used to hire all the time, but went into a slump and I'm not sure how they're doing now.

As far as apartments, I'm sure locals will have good suggestions. You could check the Sioux Falls Argus Leader and Craigslist.

Default apartments and jobs in Sioux Falls

Apartments seem to be abundant by the hundreds in Sioux Falls. I have a brother-in-law who is looking for a three bedroom and is having a hard time because those you will usually have to put your name on a waiting list because there's such a demand for them. However, since you're looking for a one bedroom, you'll have no problem finding one for your price range and it will be available immediately. There are many nice apartments, and no real "bad or horrible" area of town. Check out the Argus Leader for their apartment classifieds. One I saw in there today was for $450 for a furnished one bedroom apartment with utilities paid.
As far as jobs go, Citibank is a wonderful company to work for. I used to work for them, and only decided to leave because I have kids I get to stay home with now. I moved here without a job and got hired by Citibank immediately within three days after moving here and started the next Monday. The pay is pretty decent, too. ($10-14 per hour)
There are many other companies that hire for customer service and management. Check out esurance, HSBC, Qwest, First Premier, and Wells Fargo. Working in the financial services industry is so popular here because there's no corporate income tax in the state.
If you're willing to do some sales with customer service, you'll find a great job without any problems.

For a one bedroom, $450-650 a month, you will be able to get a nice apartment...
- Windsor Heights near 49th & Marion Road is $560-590, with heat, water, sewer, and garbage

- Kingsport Village on Dardanella Road is $580-630 with underground heated garages, indoor pool...neighborhood setting

- Platinum Valley near 69th & Louise Ave is $600-735...only a few years old, more upscale... friend of mine used to live there and loved it

- Victoria Estates near 26th & Marion is $610... washer and dryer in units...some utilities paid

- Steeplechase near 18th & Marion is $575-670... new construction, large complex...I've been inside these...very nice

- Bennington Hill near 57th & Louise is $610+...closer to commercial areas...washer/dryer, garages, pool

just a few that I found...these are all on the west side of the city. The east side has many nice ones as well, but I'm not too familiar with them.

If you are looking something on the cheaper end, Babinski Properties has multiple apartment complexes in the central area of the city. I have rented from them before and wasn't disappointed.

A customer service job won't be a problem, like others have said, there are many financial institutions here. Good luck!

There are apartment search sites that will also be helpful. The southwestern part of the city has the best selection of apartment in your range, but there are other nice apartments in other parts of the city such as the southeastern part of the city. Go to the Sioux Falls Argus Leader or KELO websites and they have links for apartments that will give you a visual look of the apartments before coming to Sioux Falls to visit.

I used to have an apartment in Bridgewood Estates, on Louise Avenue (west side of town). It was a good value, as most utilities were included plus free cable. One aspect I liked about it was that there are a lot of stores and restaraunts within walking distance. At the time, my 2 bedroom apartment plus 3 garage units was $650 a month.

The complex is owned by Lloyd Properties, which has quite a number of rentals all across the city.

Which part of town is the best place to live. I do not want a crime since I am coming from that. As well like I said most of all utilities paid. I will pay more for a nice safe place to call home.

I have lived around the Sioux Falls area for most of my life and most areas are not high crime areas and common sense would prevent potential crime. I would shy away from areas north of 18th Street and the northern part of the city by the State Pennitentary and John Morrells. A good portion of the city's crime happens there and is not as desirable as most other parts of Sioux Falls. Northwest Sioux Falls (west of 1-29) and Northeast Sioux Falls (east of I-229) are areas of northern Sioux Falls I would consider.

Many of the violent crimes happen as disputes between people (grievances toward each other) or domestic disputes. The chances of having a violent act committed to a stranger is low in Sioux Falls.

Good areas of central Sioux Falls include areas south of 26th Street. Older, established areas but still nice. McKennan hospital and park area is nice.

The southern portion of Sioux Falls is the best area of Sioux Falls and the western area (west of the mall) is also a good area. The southeastern area of Sioux Falls (near 26th and Sycamore for example) is decent.

Common sense, such as locking your apartment door and car doors (and not leaving anything too valueable in plain sight), will reduce your chances of potential theft. There has been some thefts in the past due to people not using common sense such as leave the keys in the car's ignition when one is not there.

I agree with Chris...Sioux Falls doesn't have a really bad area....I would look at the southern part of the city... I'm not sure if I can post a link on here... but I'll try... I'm still not sure about all the rules of this forum...

Thanks everybody for the info. I am a person who lives on a budget so I was looking at what prices go for. I found most of the info expect for cable tv and internet. I was wondering what the prices for Midcontinent Communications cable and internet are. It doesn't show on the website unless you recommend some body else.
