It makes a lot of sense to get off this mud ball but then again Mankind would rather thump their chests over their countries, count numbers in bank accounts, subjugate anyone who doesn't believe the way they do and expect their fellow Man to pay for their food, housing and medical needs....

The twin visitations from our solar system on Friday – one expected and one not – are yet another signal that mankind really needs to get out and about a bit more if we are to survive as a long-term species.
Nowhere if we don't try, and with nothing if we don't make an effort. Please reference Magellan, Columbus, Francis Drake, et al.

Magellan, Columbus, and Francis Drake, did not have to bring fuel or air to breathe, and they did not have to contend with solar radiation or zero-gravity. If we "make an effort" to go anywhere beyond the moon today, it will be a one-way suicide trip.

I agree. We have yet to confirm if any planet out there is compatible with humans, Let alone develop the tech to travel there in the first place. This is our last home. We have not been taking care of it or keeping order and if we made it somewhere else that house will be polluted, chaotic and not much different regardless of it's beauty or uniqueness.

I think that we will find a planet that is compatible eventually. If the James Web space telescope does not find one, then the next generation or two after the James Web space telescope will, it is only a matter of time. In the last 20 years we have discovered that the universe is littered with planets of every possible type.
Getting there, however, is another matter. We are on the verge of new technologies that could make it possible, if they pan out. For example, we currently have ion engines capable of low thrust for extremely long periods of time. If their thrust could be increased to 1 G, and sustained for a minimum of two years and four months, then we can reach 90% the speed of light. That is fast enough to reach Alpha Centauri AB and return within their life-time. Their total round-trip travel time would take about 12 years, from the perspective of those on board the spacecraft due to time dilation. From Earth's perspective it will take about 16.5 years.
Another form of propulsion, which is entirely theoretical at the moment, are Casimir Engines. These engines would be powered by zero-point vacuum energy taken from space itself. In other words, it would be able to provide propulsion without requiring fuel. It is also theorized that what is referred today as "Dark Energy" is actually this Casimir Effect.
As far as other problems, such as solar radiation, Dartmouth College is currently working on the problem and they have a lot of good information on the subject. A lot of it is still theoretical however.
Artificial gravity can be created if the craft is either accelerating or decelerating at 1G. When the engines are not operating, artificial gravity can be maintained through centrifugal force by spinning the spacecraft. A torus, 1,500 feet in diameter, need only rotate two times per minute in order to simulate 1G. The torus would have a circumference of 4,712.4 feet (0.9 miles, 1.4 km). With a craft that large, you could support quite a few people.
